The biological mother of NS (12), a boy allegedly killed by violence from his stepmother in Sukabumi, West Java, Lisna, has filed a protection request with the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK). The protection was sought due to Lisna’s distress.

“Today they filed a protection request given Ibu Lisna’s current physical and psychological condition, which is experiencing disturbance,” said LPSK Deputy Chair Sri Suparyati, as reported by Antara on Friday (27 February 2026).

Sri stated that during preliminary interviews with LPSK, Lisna claimed she had experienced several instances of harassment following her public statement about her son’s case. Lisna has reportedly filed a report against NS’s biological father to Sukabumi Police Department on suspicion of child abandonment.

“Ibu Lisna conveyed that following that report, it turned out Ibu Lisna experienced many threats, whether via WhatsApp, telephone, and also several people constantly contacting Ibu Lisna, which has disrupted her psychological situation,” said Sri.

According to her, the telephone threats contained threats and intimidation. She stated that the identity of those making the threats remains unknown, with Lisna being told to remain silent and not interfere in her biological son’s death case.

Currently, LPSK is conducting physical and psychological assessments of Lisna.

“In addition, we are still evaluating the level of threat and its connection to the psychosocial aspects,” explained Sri.

The assessment is being conducted to determine the type of protection that will be provided to the applicant. Sri also stated that LPSK will meet with police in the near future.

“The team may be deployed in the near future to meet with police for verification regarding the application of several legal provisions, as this is important to understand further,” she said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chair of the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) Jasra Putra stated that his office visited LPSK today to coordinate in order to ensure protection for the biological mother of the victim. This coordination was deemed important to clarify the circumstances of NS’s death.

Putra said that before visiting LPSK, Lisna’s legal counsel previously visited KPAI on Monday (23 February). After that, KPAI visited the scene and coordinated with local police.

From that investigation, KPAI urged that NS’s biological mother be given protection. On the other hand, the victim’s biological father was also urged to be investigated on suspicion of involvement in NS’s death.

“We also urge investigation into suspicions of other perpetrators, namely the biological father. We are asking police to investigate this because this case previously occurred in 2024 and it was reportedly settled with the stepmother, and therefore this needs to be examined further,” he said.

Lisna Allegedly a Victim of Domestic Violence

On the same occasion, member of Commission XIII of the House of Representatives Rieke Diah Pitaloka, who was also present at LPSK, conveyed that Lisna is a victim of domestic violence (KDRT) whilst still in a marriage with NS’s biological father.

“I want to state firmly that the perpetrator with strong indications of domestic violence does not need to threaten, even openly threaten, NS’s biological mother,” said Rieke, whilst emphasising the importance of protection for Lisna.

Rieke also urged police not to view NS’s death as an isolated case. In this context, Rieke asked police not to investigate only one perpetrator, namely NS’s stepmother.

Meanwhile, the legal counsel for NS’s biological mother, Krisna Murti, expressed gratitude to those who have assisted in overseeing his client’s case.

“This means that the state has come to protect my client,” he said.
