Bio Farma Showcases Technological Innovations at DTIIF 2026
Bandung (ANTARA) – State-owned pharmaceutical company PT Bio Farma (Persero) showcased technological innovations in vaccine research, production and distribution during the Danantara Technology Innovation and Investment Forum (DTIIF), held in Jakarta from 26 to 28 October 2026.
Bio Farma President Director Shadiq Akasya said collaboration with industry players, research institutions, technology companies and investors was essential to accelerating research and the development of pharmaceutical products.
“Developing a product requires research and development, innovation and technology. We hope this meeting will lead to something we can do to support Bio Farma’s development,” Shadiq said in a statement received in Bandung, West Java, on Tuesday.
He said the event formed part of Bio Farma’s efforts to strengthen Indonesia’s pharmaceutical industry and support the provision of high-quality vaccines for the public.
At the forum, Bio Farma presented several technologies developed and adopted to support its operations. These included digital monitoring of vaccine distribution, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in research and production, and digital simulations to develop staff skills.
One of the innovations on display was Medtrack, a digital system for monitoring vaccine distribution in real time.
“The technology enables temperature monitoring during transport and can detect potential distribution disruptions, helping to maintain vaccine quality and safety until delivery,” Shadiq said.
Bio Farma also uses AI to support research and production, monitor polio vaccine manufacturing, and assist with the analysis and selection of DNA- and messenger RNA (mRNA)-based vaccine candidates, he said.
“We hope these technologies will make pharmaceutical research and product development more effective while strengthening domestic technological expertise,” he added.
Shadiq said strengthening innovation and technological capabilities was vital to maintaining and improving Bio Farma’s competitiveness in global markets.
Through its participation in DTIIF 2026, Bio Farma hopes to expand strategic partnerships, accelerate technology transfer and promote innovation in the pharmaceutical sector.
“I hope the forum will create more opportunities to work with strategic partners, including research companies and organisations with the capacity to develop technology,” Shadiq said.
