Bio Farma Group Exports Indofarma Products to Afghanistan to Boost National Health Industry Competitiveness
PT Bio Farma (Persero), as the parent of the Bio Farma Group holding, has successfully exported five containers of pharmaceutical products from PT Indofarma (Persero) Tbk to Afghanistan, from its production facility in Cibitung, West Java.
Bio Farma President Director Shadiq Akasya stated that the export realisation serves as a positive indicator of the transformation being consistently carried out within the Bio Farma Group. “This export success is an important momentum for Bio Farma Group in strengthening the competitiveness of the national health industry on a global level,” Shadiq said in a statement on Sunday. “We continue to encourage transformation and continuous improvement in all subsidiaries and affiliates to be more adaptive, competitive, and able to create sustainable added value.”
According to Shadiq, this step is part of Bio Farma Group’s commitment to supporting the government’s agenda to strengthen national health resilience, while also increasing Indonesia’s contribution to the global health ecosystem.
Indofarma President Director Sahat Sihombing said the export to Afghanistan provides encouragement for Indofarma to continue expanding its international market reach, improving product quality, and strengthening the company’s competitiveness. With more than three decades of experience in the export market, he affirmed that Indofarma will continue to broaden its international market coverage, enhance product quality, and deliver sustainable added value for the public, shareholders, and the nation. “We believe that national pharmaceutical products have the capability to compete and gain trust in the global market,” Sahat said.
As part of the Bio Farma Group, Indofarma receives support through strengthened synergy, collaboration, and business capability development. This export realisation also reflects international market confidence in Indonesian pharmaceutical products and the national health industry’s tangible contribution to meeting global health needs.
Meanwhile, Indofarma Commissioner Didi Agus Mintadi assessed that the continuation of export activities amidst the company’s transformation and restructuring process is a positive indicator of Indofarma’s competitiveness and business sustainability. “Exports hold strategic value that goes beyond commercial aspects alone. Besides contributing to increasing state foreign exchange and strengthening the position of Indonesian pharmaceutical products in the international market, the sustainability of the export market is also an important factor in supporting Indofarma’s restructuring process and strengthening its fundamentals,” he said.
