Bio Farma distributes 3,000 vaccine doses for NTT earthquake victims

Bandung (ANTARA) - PT Bio Farma (Persero) has distributed 3,000 doses of tetanus-diphtheria vaccine to support the health protection of volunteers and communities affected by the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

President Director of PT Bio Farma, Shadiq Akasya, said the vaccine distribution was carried out in accordance with needs and health service provisions in the disaster-affected areas.

“We ensure that the health resources we have are utilised appropriately, relevantly and provide a real impact for the affected communities,” said Shadiq in a statement received in Bandung on Friday.

The assistance is intended to help meet the health and basic needs of volunteers and affected communities during the emergency response period.

Shadiq said the handover of assistance has been carried out in stages since 17 August 2026 and is still being distributed to meet the needs of communities in the affected areas.

“In a disaster situation, the needs of the community are the focus of our response. We ensure that the health resources we have are utilised appropriately, relevantly, and provide a real impact for the affected communities,” he said.

He explained that the strength of Bio Farma Group lies in complementary capabilities, ranging from vaccine products, pharmaceutical products and health services, to distribution and various health support resources.

“In the context of disasters, we mobilise these capabilities in a coordinated manner. Not as responses that operate independently, but as a single strength of Bio Farma Group to answer the needs of the community and support more integrated handling and recovery,” he said.
