Binus School Students Outperform Global Averages in 2026 IB Exams
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Binus School students recorded results above global averages in 2026 international examinations under the International Baccalaureate (IB) and Cambridge programmes.
In an official statement in Jakarta on Monday, Binus School Director Sherrierose Garcia Gonzales said students’ average score in the IB Diploma Programme was 5.2, exceeding the global average of 4.9, according to data from the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO).
“Meanwhile, in the Cambridge programme, 87 per cent of students achieved results in the outstanding, high and good categories in Cambridge Checkpoint. In the 2026 Cambridge A-level examinations, 25 per cent of students received A/A grades,” Sherrierose said.
She said the results reflected students’ hard work, teachers’ dedication, parents’ support and the guidance of school leaders.
According to her, the school focuses not only on academic achievement, but also on developing students’ character, knowledge and skills to prepare them for the future.
The academic results have also supported Binus School graduates’ prospects of continuing their studies at universities in Indonesia and abroad, including the University of Pennsylvania, University College London, Cornell University, the University of Melbourne, the University of Indonesia, Bandung Institute of Technology and Gadjah Mada University.
Since its establishment in 1998, Binus School has developed IB and Cambridge programmes across five campuses: Simprug, Serpong, Bekasi, Semarang and Surabaya.
Sherrierose said examination results and university admissions were important achievements, but not the ultimate goal of education.
“Schools must continue to help students recognise their potential and goals, and prepare them to make a positive contribution to society,” she said.
