Binus Kebon Jeruk Campus Fire

The auditorium of Binus Cakra campus in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, caught fire. As of this report, firefighters were still working to extinguish the blaze. ‘The affected area is the auditorium on the fourth floor of Binus Cakra campus,’ according to data from the fire command centre, Friday (22 May).

The fire was reported by residents via phone at 05:30 WIB. The blaze occurred at Jalan Raya Kebon Jeruk No. 27 RT 1 RW 9, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta.

The firefighting operation began at 05:41 WIB. The fire had been brought under control to prevent spread to a wider area by 06:00 WIB.

‘The fire situation, firefighting in progress, smoke is quite thick,’ one official said.

There are currently 11 fire engines and 55 personnel deployed to the scene. There have been no reports of casualties or impacts from the fire.
