Binus Campus Fire: Five Fire Engines Deployed
Fire occurred at Binus Anggrek Campus, located in Kemanggisan, Palmerah, West Jakarta, on Friday morning (22 May 2026). Five fire engines with around 30 personnel were deployed in the initial phase. The operation focused on localising the fire and clearing the dense smoke enveloping the campus building. Head of Operations Section of West Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-department (Gulkarmat), Syaiful Kahfi, confirmed the incident and said his team had arrived at the scene to carry out intensive handling. According to early reports, the fire was reported at 05:30 WIB, and firefighters arrived ten minutes later at 05:40 WIB. Authorities have not yet determined which rooms were directly affected or the exact cause of the fire. There were no reports of fatalities or material losses associated with the incident. Traffic along Jalan Rawa Belong and the route to Anggrek Campus was congested due to the large number of firefighting vehicles parked on the roadside for evacuation and firefighting operations. The blaze at Binus Campus in Kemanggisan, West Jakarta, was extinguished by 09:40 WIB.
