Binus Campus Fire Extinguished by Nine O’Clock

Fire struck Binus Anggrek Campus in Kemanggisan, West Jakarta, on Friday morning. Firefighters had extinguished the blaze by 09:40 WIB. A total of 14 fire engine units and 70 personnel were deployed to the auditorium at Jalan Raya Kebon Jeruk No. 27 RT 1 RW 9, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta.

There have been no official reports yet on the exact cause of the fire or the total material losses, and authorities are continuing to document whether there were any casualties.

The firefighting operation began at 05:41 WIB. The Head of Operations for the West Jakarta Fire Department (Sudin Gulkarmat Jakarta Barat), Syaiful Kahfi, said conditions at the site had gradually become safe, with officers monitoring the aftermath.

‘By the time we arrived, the building on the fifth floor was already smoke-filled and thick. We had to enter using breathing apparatus, then proceed with firefighting and search for hotspots,’ he said.
