Polewali Mandar — The Binuang Paku Nutrition Service Centre (SPPG) in Polewali Mandar Regency (Polman), West Sulawesi, has been shut down by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). The closure follows an incident in which 16 pupils of SDN 010 Paku experienced nausea and vomiting after consuming Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) prepared at the facility.
The temporary closure order is contained in BGN letter number 439/D.TWS/02/2026, dated 14 February 2026, signed by the Deputy for Monitoring and Supervision, Director of Monitoring and Supervision for Region III, Rudi Setiawan.
"The temporary suspension is correct, yes," said BGN Regional Coordinator for Polman, Muh Firman Jaelani, speaking to reporters by telephone on Sunday (15 February 2026).
According to Jaelani, the temporary closure will remain in effect until laboratory test results on food samples from the Health Office are available. His team is still awaiting the results of the examination of food samples distributed to the pupils.
He added that the Binuang Paku SPPG must fulfil a number of requirements, including obtaining a Health Fitness Certificate (SLS) and Halal certification from the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH).
A total of 16 pupils of SDN 010 Paku, Polman, were suspected of suffering food poisoning after consuming MBG on Saturday morning (14 February). The pupils are believed to have been poisoned after eating mung bean porridge and milk served in food containers.
