Bintang deserves to be president

Amien Rais honestly said the other day that the present and
future of Indonesia does not rest on the four top national
leaders. There are many younger figures who are energetic and
capable of becoming national leaders. Among the younger figures,
only Sri-Bintang Pamoengkas has openly expressed his desire to
become president (an interview with Rakyat Merdeka, Dec. 12,
2000)

Sri Bintang Pamoengkas meets the requirements of a president.
He is young, healthy, intelligent, and has a strong educational
background. He is also tough, firm, energetic and is not afraid
of threats or punishments if he has to fight for the truth and
eliminate evil forces. When no one had the courage to speak up,
express one's ideas or oppose the authoritarian regime of
Soeharto, Sri Bintang Pamoengkas came forward and opposed the
regime without thinking of his own safety.

Although he has only a limited number of followers, he has
been seriously preparing himself for the presidency. May God
bless him with success in his efforts because we are facing a
crisis of trust in our national leaders. We need a president who
is trustworthy and capable of bringing changes that are
beneficial to all citizens.
