The Bintan Regency Government, Riau Islands Province, through the Manpower Office, has scheduled a job fair to be held on 12-13 June 2026, featuring 1,309 job vacancies.

“The implementation of the Job Fair will be centred at the Administrator Office of the Galang Batang Special Economic Zone (SEZ),” stated Bintan Regent Roby Kurniawan on Saturday.

Roby noted that the 2026 Job Fair will involve 11 major companies from various sectors operating within the Bintan region. He encouraged local youths to utilise this opportunity as a bridge to finding employment that matches their specific skills and expertise.

According to Roby, this edition of the Job Fair will also provide career counselling services, walk-in interviews, job guidance, disability service units, as well as social security services from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (Employment) and BPJS Kesehatan (Health).

The Regent advised applicants to carefully review each available position to ensure they meet the necessary requirements and capabilities. “We appreciate all the participating companies for opening opportunities for our local youth to begin their careers. Prepare yourselves and join the Bintan 2026 Job Fair,” Roby said.

Roby added that the Job Fair is part of the Bintan Regency Government’s priority programme, aligning with the region’s primary development mission: “Building Superior and Prosperous Human Resources Based on Religious Values and Malay Culture.”

To achieve this mission, the Bintan Government is focusing not only on job creation but also on improving the quality of the local workforce through education, mentoring, and cross-sector collaboration, including vocational training. This strategic approach has yielded concrete results, with the open unemployment rate in Bintan dropping from 8.62 per cent in 2021 (BPS data) to 4.53 per cent in 2025.

“We are optimistic that Bintan’s local workforce possesses the potential and competitiveness to contribute effectively to the professional world,” concluded the Bintan Regent.
