Bintan Regency Prepares Home Care Services for Returning Hajj Pilgrims
The Bintan Regency Government, Riau Islands Province, is preparing ‘home care’ health services to provide care at home for a period of three weeks for local Hajj pilgrims who have recently returned from the Holy Land. Bintan Regent Roby Kurniawan stated that he has instructed the Health Office to monitor and take action if any health complaints or disturbances arise following their return. “This service will continue for the next three weeks to ensure that the pilgrims remain fit and healthy,” Roby said in Bintan on Tuesday.
Roby mentioned that health officers in Bintan have also been assigned to remain on standby to handle complaints, such as fever or other symptoms. Pilgrims in need of home care medical services can directly contact their Hajj officers. Subsequently, the Hajj officers will contact community health centres (Puskesmas) and medical teams to visit the relevant households.
According to the Regent, pilgrims’ bodies are usually still in the process of readjusting to the climate in Indonesia. Therefore, pilgrims are advised to increase their water intake and consume plenty of fruits and vegetables during this period of climatic adjustment. Sufficient rest is also considered vital after undertaking a long and exhausting journey in the Holy Land.
Bintan Regent Roby Kurniawan officially welcomed the return of Bintan pilgrims alongside pilgrims from other regencies/cities belonging to Group 1 of the Batam Embarkation. The welcoming ceremony was held at the Arafah I Hall of the Batam City Hajj Dormitory on Monday (1/6) at approximately 18:45 WIB, following the arrival of the entire group after landing at Hang Nadim International Airport, Batam. This year, the total number of pilgrims in Group 1 of the Batam Embarkation is 445, consisting of 44 people from Bintan Regency, 27 from Lingga Regency, 145 from Tanjungpinang City, and 225 from Batam City, plus four group officers.
