b]Indonesian, Thai migrant workers clash in Malaysia: Police on
Sunday detained nearly 100 Indonesian and Thai immigrant workers
after a brawl in which one Thai man was slashed to death. Armed
with machetes and iron rods, the construction workers clashed in
a suburb near Kuala Lumpur on Saturday night after some
Indonesians accused their Thai colleagues of stealing a mobile
phone, said Selangor state police Abu Bakar Mustafa. Narong
Chayarat, 25, died Sunday after being slashed during the fray,
Abu Bakar was quoted as saying by the national Bernama news
agency. Two other men were injured. Police detained 52 Thais and
46 Indonesians early Sunday for questioning. --AP
