Bimantara to build toll road

JAKARTA (JP): Bimantara's PT Tri Daya Esta is expected to win the tender to build a Rp 584 billion (US$247 million) toll road in Surabaya following the withdrawal of its main rivals.

Sources said the rivals, including Setiawan Djody's Sarpindo Graha Nusantara and Ari Sigit's Aryo Nusa Pakarti, recently resigned their tenders for the toll road linking the city's Waru business district and Tanjung Perak port.

East Java governor Basofi Soedirman said Wednesday the East Java administration had not yet selected a developer for the 16.4-kilometer toll road.

"The most important thing for us is that the toll's tariff should be affordable," he said.

Tri Daya proposes a Rp 2,500 toll for sedans and commercial vehicles, a Rp 3,500 toll for trucks and buses and a Rp 4,000 toll for trailer trucks. (04)
