Bima Regent Inaugurates 274 Officials Amid Protests from Supporters
A commotion marked the inauguration of 274 structural, functional and administrative officials within the Bima Regency Government (Pemkab Bima). A crowd claiming to be the success team of the Ady-Irfan pairing in the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) protested against the hundreds of officials being inaugurated.
According to information gathered by detikBali, the protesters voiced their objections before the inauguration at the Bima Regent’s office on Wednesday (22/7/2026). They expressed disappointment with the Regent’s attitude for failing to listen to the aspirations of Ady-Irfan loyalists.
The Head of the Protocol, Administration and Communications Section of the Bima Regency Regional Secretariat, Suryadin, described the action taken by Ady-Irfan supporters as ordinary political dynamics. He affirmed that the inauguration of the hundreds of Bima Regency officials proceeded without a hitch.
“It is ordinary dynamics. The inauguration went ahead as planned,” said Suryadin when contacted on Wednesday (22/7/2026).
Suryadin noted that a total of 274 structural, functional and administrative officials were sworn in directly by the Bima Regent on the day. The breakdown comprised three echelon II officials, seven echelon III and IV officials, and 264 heads of kindergartens, primary schools and junior secondary schools.
“The 274 officials inaugurated today have all gone through a careful process by the Baperjakat team and received technical consideration (Pertek) from the State Civil Service Agency (BKN),” Suryadin explained.
Bima Regent Ady Mahyudi said the inauguration of the hundreds of officials is expected to strengthen the bureaucratic capacity of the Bima Regency Government. He stressed that these officials will work to deliver his vision of a dignified Bima that is progressive, prosperous, resilient and sustainable.
“I invite all the officials inaugurated today to understand that a post is not a reward for past achievements, but a trust to deliver better performance in the future,” said Ady in his statement.
Ady reminded the newly inaugurated officials to remain disciplined, professional and collaborative, and to continue strengthening coordination across regional apparatus organisations (OPD). This includes eliminating the sectoral egos that have long hindered the acceleration of development.
“Our measure of success is not the number of reports produced, but how much change is felt by the community,” concluded the Secretary of the NTB PAN provincial leadership board.
