Bima Regent Inaugurates 274 Officials Amid Protests from Supporters

The Head of Prokopim for the Bima Regency Secretariat, Suryadin, stated that the protest by supporters of the Ady-Irfan pair was a normal dynamic. He confirmed that the inauguration of hundreds of Bima Regency officials proceeded without hindrance. “It’s a normal dynamic. The inauguration went ahead,” Suryadin said on Wednesday (22/7/2026). Suryadin noted that a total of 274 structural, functional, and administrative officials were directly inaugurated by the Bima Regent today. The breakdown includes three echelon II officials, seven echelon III and IV officials, and 264 school principals from kindergarten, primary, and junior high school levels. “The 274 officials inaugurated today have passed a rigorous selection process by the Baperjakat team and received technical consideration from the National Civil Service Agency (BKN),” Suryadin explained. Bima Regent Ady Mahyudi expressed hope that the inauguration of hundreds of officials would strengthen the bureaucratic capacity of the Bima Regency government. He stressed that these officials will work to realise the vision and mission of a dignified, progressive, prosperous, resilient, and sustainable Bima. “I urge all officials inaugurated today to understand that a position is not a reward for past achievements, but a mandate to deliver better performance in the future,” Ady stated. Ady reminded the newly appointed officials to remain disciplined, professional, and collaborative, and to continuously strengthen cross-OPD coordination. This includes eliminating sectoral egos that have hindered the acceleration of development. “Our measure of success is not the number of reports produced, but the extent of change felt by the community,” concluded the Secretary of the NTB PAN Regional Leadership Council.
