Bima (ANTARA) — The Bima Regency Government in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) is discussing a gold-backed agricultural financing scheme with Bank Dinar to improve farmers’ access to capital in the area.

The discussion formed part of a session in Bima City on Monday to socialise Government Regulation No. 16 of 2026 on the implementation of Law No. 6 of 2014 on Villages.

Bank Dinar President Director Mustaen explained that the Agricultural Business Financing with Gold Collateral programme (SI TANI) uses gold as collateral, with the financing amount determined by the size of the land and the needs of the farming business.

“The scheme provides financing of around Rp20 million per hectare for agricultural production needs, such as seeds, fertiliser and pesticides,” he said.

He said financing would be repaid under a yarnen arrangement, meaning payment after harvest. The financing amount and repayment mechanism would follow the bank’s requirements.

Bima Regent Ady Mahyudi said village governments needed to promote the development of productive businesses among residents to strengthen the rural economy.

“This synergy must continue to be strengthened to support improvements in village officials’ capacity, the development of productive businesses and the sustainable strengthening of the community’s economy,” he said.

According to Ady, rural economic development requires focused planning and the strengthening of local potential. He therefore asked village governments to make the most of village-owned enterprises (BUMDes) in supporting economic activity among residents.

He stressed that the success of village development should not be measured solely by the number of activities carried out, but also by the benefits they deliver to the community.

“The success of a village head is not measured by the number of activities carried out, but by how well their mandate is fulfilled and how much tangible benefit the community receives,” he said.

Alongside promoting economic development, Ady reminded village heads to comply with laws and regulations and to manage village revenue and expenditure budgets (APBDes) transparently and accountably.

He said budget management must comply with the rules at every stage, from planning and implementation to administration, reporting and accountability.

Bima Regency Community and Village Empowerment Agency (DPMD) head Masykur said the session aimed to strengthen village heads’ understanding of village governance regulations while also discussing financing opportunities to support economic activity among residents.

He hoped the event would help village governments identify community needs and develop productive businesses suited to the potential of their respective areas.

The event was attended by Bank Dinar’s Bima Branch Head Wahyu Ramdhani, DPMD officials and all village heads in Bima Regency.
