Two men with the initials RW and HF were arrested by a joint team from the Woha Police and the Bima Police Narcotics Unit. Both are suspected of involvement in the distribution of methamphetamine. One of those detained, identified as HF, is known to be a member of the Bima Police holding the rank of Bripka. The police officer who supplied methamphetamine to a dealer now faces dismissal. Narcotics Unit Chief AKP Dediansyah stated that Bripka HF was arrested together with RW in connection with methamphetamine distribution on Friday, 6 June. A few days after his arrest and initial examination at the Bima Police headquarters, Bripka HF was transferred to the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police headquarters. Bima Police Chief AKBP Muhammad Anton Bhayangkara Gaisar confirmed the transfer, stating that Bripka HF was handed over to the Regional Police’s internal affairs division as instructed by senior leadership. Prior to being taken to the regional police, Bripka HF was first examined by the Bima Police’s internal affairs section. The investigation results indicated that Bripka HF is suspected of involvement in narcotics distribution activities. Additionally, Bripka HF underwent a urine test at the Bima Police Narcotics Unit, which returned a positive result for drugs. The police chief noted that Bripka HF is also suspected of possessing 0.04 grams of methamphetamine hidden inside the silicone casing of his mobile phone. The case began when Woha Police officers arrested RW at his residence in Bante Hamlet, Tente Village, Woha District, Bima Regency, on Friday, 5 June. Officers seized three packets of methamphetamine with a net weight of 1.20 grammes, a gas lighter, a mobile phone, and Rp 16.2 million in cash from RW. According to RW’s statement, the illicit goods were obtained from HF, an active police officer residing in the Woha District area. Following up on RW’s confession, officers from the Woha Police and the Narcotics Unit immediately detained HF. The police chief asserted that the case would be processed according to applicable regulations, and if found guilty, Bripka HF would face strict sanctions according to internal police mechanisms, which could result in dishonourable discharge.
