The construction progress of the inpatient building at Bima City Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in West Nusa Tenggara has yet to be completed. The project, which has a regional budget allocation of Rp 35.1 billion, was scheduled to be finished on 26 June. Bima City Government spokesperson Muhammad Hasyim declined to comment extensively on the matter. Hasyim stated that he is still awaiting an explanation from the Director of RSUD Kota Bima and the Commitment-Making Officer (PPK) regarding the project delay. ‘We are waiting for information from the Hospital Director and the PPK to provide clarification,’ Hasyim said when contacted on Thursday (2/7/2026). According to the project information board, the inpatient building project for RSUD Kota Bima is listed under contract number 445.04/17.A/RSUD-Kota/X/2025, dated 20 October 2025. The contract value is approximately Rp 35.1 billion, sourced from the 2025-2026 Regional Budget. The project, aimed at upgrading the hospital to support cancer, heart, stroke, and uronefrology (KJSU) services, is being carried out under a multi-year contract system by PT Citra Putera La Terang, with a total implementation period of 245 calendar days. It was previously noted that Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin inspected the RSUD Kota Bima development in February. His visit was to ensure that the quality improvements at RSUD Kota Bima, intended to support priority services for cancer, heart, stroke, and urology (KJSU) under the Best Results Fast Programme (PHTC), were progressing as expected. Hasyim stated at the time that construction of the main RSUD Kota Bima building began in May 2025 and was completed on 26 December 2025. The current phase involves the construction of the inpatient building. ‘The plan is for RSUD Kota Bima to be inaugurated in August 2026, or precisely after the completion of the inpatient building,’ added the Head of the Bima City Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Office. RSUD Kota Bima is one of 66 type C regional general hospitals being built by the Ministry of Health across Indonesia. The development is a priority programme of President Prabowo Subianto to expand access and ensure equitable quality healthcare services. In Bima City, the total budget allocation for the hospital construction amounts to Rp 170 billion, sourced from the Special Allocation Fund (DAK). The breakdown includes Rp 150 billion for physical construction and Rp 20 billion for the procurement of medical equipment. This type C hospital is intended to handle diseases with a high risk of mortality, such as stroke, kidney disease, heart disease, and cancer, so that residents no longer need to be referred to hospitals outside the region.
