Bima Arya Reminds IPDN Cadets to Maintain Performance During Service in Aceh Tamiang
IPDN first-level cadets participating in the third wave of Field Work Practice in Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh, have been asked to maintain consistent performance throughout their assignment period. This consistency is deemed essential so that the cadets’ service can provide tangible contributions to accelerating the region’s recovery. The message was delivered by Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya Sugiarto during the roll call for receiving the Cadet Unit in Aceh Tamiang on Wednesday (1/4). He emphasised that this wave of assignment has the potential to be the last, so the cadets are expected to conclude their service well without leaving any negative records. In his directives, Bima also reminded of the conditions in Aceh Tamiang three months ago, which were in a difficult situation with limited basic facilities and halted government activities. “Three months ago, this place was truly paralysed. The atmosphere was far different when your seniors entered this place. The atmosphere was tense, there was no lighting, no water, all activities were paralysed,” he said. According to him, the previously assigned cadets faced far from ideal conditions. However, within three months, the situation has gradually recovered thanks to the hard work of the cadets together with the regional government and elements of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum. Currently, government activities have resumed, and public services are starting to normalise. Nevertheless, Bima reminded that the challenges faced by the cadets are not necessarily lighter, but have a different character. “Don’t misread the field situation, never take it lightly,” he stressed. He explained that if previously the cadets played a role in recovering government functions, at this stage the assignment demands more direct involvement in the midst of the community. In addition, he emphasised the importance of upholding the good name of the institution and utilising the assignment period as a learning space. “Please always uphold the good name of our proud institution, IPDN and the Ministry of Home Affairs,” he urged. Finally, he reminded that the success of the service is not only determined by the ability to start well, but also by the ability to complete the task well. “Races are often determined not by how we start, but by how we finish and end,” he asserted. Before the receiving roll call, Bima also directly inspected the operation points in Bahagia Hamlet and Amalia Hamlet, which will be the cadets’ assignment locations. At those locations, the cadets will focus on mud cleaning activities in residents’ houses, drainage, and village roads as part of efforts to accelerate environmental recovery post-disaster.
