Bima Arya Reminds IPDN Cadets to Maintain Performance Consistency in Aceh Tamiang
Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Bima Arya Sugiarto, reminded the Pratama Cadets of the Institute of Domestic Government (IPDN) participating in the third wave of Field Work Practice in Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh, to maintain consistency in their performance. Bima stressed that this wave has the potential to be the final assignment, thus demanding that the cadets conclude their service in Aceh Tamiang properly without leaving any negative notes. Bima also recalled the conditions in Aceh Tamiang three months ago, which were in a difficult situation with limited basic facilities and halted government activities. “Three months ago, this place was truly paralysed. The atmosphere was far different from when your seniors entered this place. The atmosphere was tense, there was no lighting, no water, all activities were paralysed,” he stated in a written statement on Thursday (2/4/2026). This was conveyed by Bima during his role as the inspector of the welcoming parade for the Pratama Unit (first-level cadets) in Aceh Tamiang on Wednesday (1/4). According to him, the previously assigned cadets faced conditions far from ideal. However, over the past three months, the situation has gradually recovered thanks to the hard work of the cadets together with the regional government (Pemda) and elements of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda). Currently, government activities have resumed, and public services are starting to normalise. Nevertheless, Bima reminded that the challenges faced by the cadets are not necessarily lighter, but rather have a different character. “Do not misread the field situation, never take it lightly,” he emphasised. He explained that if previously the cadets played a role in recovering government functions, at this stage the assignment demands more direct involvement in the midst of the community. In addition, he stressed the importance of upholding the good name of the institution and utilising the assignment period as a learning space. “Please always uphold the good name of our pride institution, IPDN and the Ministry of Home Affairs,” he urged. Finally, he reminded that the success of the service is not only determined by the ability to start well, but also by the ability to complete the task well. “Races are often determined not by how we start, but by how we finish and end,” he asserted. Before the welcoming parade, Bima also directly inspected the operational points in Dusun Bahagia and Dusun Amalia, which will be the assignment locations for the cadets. At those locations, the cadets will focus on cleaning mud in residents’ houses, drainage, and village roads as part of efforts to accelerate environmental recovery post-disaster.
