Bima Arya Leads 30th Regional Autonomy Anniversary Ceremony, Attended by Rano Karno to Khofifah

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Wakil Menteri Dalam Negeri (Wamendagri) Bima Arya Sugiarto led the ceremony commemorating the 30th Regional Autonomy Day at the Kemendagri Plaza, Jakarta, on Monday (27/4/2026). Kompas.com observations at the location revealed that the morning ceremony was attended by around 29 regional heads. The regional heads sat in chairs near the ceremonial podium, wearing white PDL official uniforms. In his ceremonial address, Bima conveyed several messages on behalf of Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian. The messages concerned evaluations and plans for consolidating to perfect regional autonomy. “There is one word that is very closely associated with regional autonomy. One word that becomes the spirit of regional autonomy compared to other systems, namely authority. It is this authority that distinguishes the 30 years of regional autonomy from the previous era,” Bima stated in his address. He said that 30 years is a process to continuously perfect, improve, and evaluate regional autonomy through the concept of authority that is closely tied to regional autonomy. Bima emphasised that authority without capability is mere wishful thinking. “Authority without integrity only gives birth to arbitrariness and sting operations,” Bima said. “Decentralisation without being accompanied and balanced by justice will only produce inequalities,” he continued.
