Bima Arya Encourages Regional Heads to Share Inspiration

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Bima Arya Sugiarto has invited regional heads to strengthen communication and share experiences in facing the challenges of governance.

According to him, forums among regional heads such as the Association of All Indonesian Provincial Governments (APPSI) are important spaces for exchanging inspiration while strengthening solidarity.

Bima made these remarks while opening the APPSI Welcome Dinner at Aruna Senggigi, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), on Wednesday (15/7). He noted that regional heads currently face increasingly complex pressures and therefore need a forum for mutual support.

“The inner experience of a regional head is not easy; the onslaught comes from every direction,” Bima said.

According to Bima, the challenges facing regional heads today are not limited to governance. They include adjusting to regional transfer funds and delivering on campaign promises.

In addition, regional heads must contend with contemporary dynamics in which their every move can attract widespread scrutiny.

For this reason, he believes routine meetings among regional heads need to be continuously strengthened. Through such interactions, regional heads are expected to gain inspiration in exercising leadership in their respective regions, enabling them to keep developing and to inspire other regional heads.

“There must be frequent sharing sessions. Solidarity and space for interaction among regional heads are important. Gatherings like APPSI can encourage regional heads to become figures capable of offering one another inspiration and contemplation,” he concluded.

Also in attendance were Governor of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas) Ace Hasan Syadzily, Chairperson of the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC) Filda C. Yusgiantoro, Chair of the PYC Advisory Board Inka B. Yusgiantoro, Head of the Home Affairs Ministry’s Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) Sugeng Hariyono, APPSI gubernatorial board members, and other relevant officials.
