Bima Arya Encourages Regional Heads to Share Inspiration

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Bima Arya Sugiarto has invited regional heads to strengthen communication and share experiences in facing the challenges of governance. According to him, inter-regional head forums such as the Association of All Indonesia Provincial Governments (APPSI) serve as an important space for exchanging inspiration while strengthening togetherness. This was conveyed by Bima when opening the APPSI Welcome Dinner at Aruna Senggigi, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), on Wednesday (15/7). He assessed that regional heads are currently facing increasingly complex pressures, thus requiring a platform for mutual reinforcement. “The inner atmosphere [of a regional head] is indeed not easy, the onslaught [comes] from all directions,” said Bima. According to Bima, the challenges faced by regional heads today are not only related to governance. They include adjustments to regional transfers and realising campaign promises. In addition, regional heads are also confronted with current dynamics that make every step they take subject to wide scrutiny. Therefore, he believes regular meetings between regional heads need to be continuously strengthened. Through such interactions, regional heads are expected to gain inspiration in carrying out leadership in their respective regions, enabling them to continue developing and providing inspiration for other regional heads. “There must be frequent sharing sessions. Togetherness and interaction spaces between regional heads are important. Meetings like this APPSI gathering can encourage regional heads to become figures who are able to provide mutual inspiration and contemplation,” he concluded. The event was also attended by Lemhannas Governor Ace Hasan Syadzily, Chairman of the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC) Filda C. Yusgiantoro, Chair of the PYC Advisory Board Inka B. Yusgiantoro, Head of BPSDM Kemendagri Sugeng Hariyono, APPSI board governors, and other relevant officials.
