Bima Arya Appreciates PFmuda for Creating Change Agents Towards Indonesia Emas 2045

Jakarta – Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Bima Arya Sugiarto has expressed his appreciation for the Pertamina Foundation Muda (PFmuda) programme, which encourages the younger generation to become agents of change.

PFmuda is a social project innovation competition from Pertamina Foundation for the younger generation to realise their creative ideas into sociopreneurship that has a real impact on society.

According to Bima, the millennial and Gen Z generations, who currently dominate the demographic posture, are future leaders who will support the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045.

“Pertamina Foundation is part of our efforts towards Indonesia Emas 2045,” he said during a speech at the Link & Connect: Social Innovation for Change Maker event at the MyPertamina Ballroom, Universitas Pertamina, Jakarta, Tuesday (23/6/2026).

Bima stated that the programme developed by Pertamina Foundation aligns with sociologist Anthony Giddens’ concept of a cosmopolitan generation, namely a generation with an activist mentality, global skills, and a nationalist spirit. In the future, the generation that will dominate the global stage are those who are strong at these three levels: local, national, and global. Moreover, in the current era of disruption, one is required to be able to read the signs of the times.

“I see this programme encompasses those three levels. I like that it has a local footing, so it addresses local problems, articulates them at the national level, and can be competitive at the global level,” he explained.

On the occasion, Bima took time to visit several innovative programme booths involved in PFmuda. He was impressed by one innovation that increases the economic value of crabs. The tool works by increasing the weight of crabs through a sustainable ecosystem.

“The crab cultivation innovation is skillful. Making it marketable is a fighter’s work. So I like this programme, hopefully it can be replicated everywhere,” Bima added.

According to him, initiatives like this can also serve as a pilot for regional heads to build collaboration with various parties in encouraging innovation in the regions.

“Imagine if this inspiration spreads to all regional heads in Indonesia, encouraging innovation. Collaboration, synergy, co-creation, that’s the way,” he concluded.
