BIM University Bali Officially Opens as an Inclusive Campus for All

BIM University (Bali International Muhammadiyah) has officially opened new student registration for the 2026/2027 Academic Year, championing a concept of education based on technology, industry, and entrepreneurship. The campus also asserts itself as a higher education institution open to all groups without discriminating based on religious background. BIM University Rector, Harun Joko Prayitno, stated that the name Bali International Muhammadiyah does not make the campus exclusive to Muhammadiyah members. According to him, BIM University was designed from the outset as an inclusive private university accessible to the entire community. “The name is Bali International Muhammadiyah, but all groups can study and attend lectures at BIM Bali. This campus is indeed intended for all groups from all religions, not exclusive to certain circles. This campus was designed from the start for higher education for all,” said Harun at the BIM Bali Campus on Tuesday (9/6). He explained that in addition to implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, which encompasses education, research, and community service, BIM University also applies Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan (AIK). Nevertheless, students from other religions still receive religious instruction according to their respective beliefs. BIM University is also opening a summer course programme for foreign students holidaying in Bali. The programme allows participants to take courses that can be converted to credits at their home universities. “We want to produce graduates who are not only ready for employment but also ready for entrepreneurship and possess 21st-century life skills. BIM University is here to bridge the needs of the industrial world with the world of education,” said Harun. He added that the integration of the IIE (IT, Industry, Entrepreneurship) concept with the APIM (Adaptive, Progressive, Innovative, Modern Millennials) approach forms the campus’s strategy in facing technological developments and global challenges. BIM University Marketing Communication representative, Dewa Ayu Yuliarini, said the campus is opening several study programmes, including Digital Business, Information Systems, Entrepreneurship, Management, Law, Food Technology, and Informatics Engineering. In terms of cost, BIM University offers tuition fees starting from Rp4.2 million per semester, along with flexible initial payment options to provide broader access to education for the public. “BIM University is present with a learning concept that is not only theoretical but also directly practical, both in the fields of technology and industry. This is our advantage in preparing work-ready graduates,” said Yuliarini. According to her, the IIE Campus concept integrates information technology skills, industrial experience, and the development of an entrepreneurial spirit. Students will be equipped with skills such as coding, artificial intelligence (AI), and cybersecurity, and will have the opportunity for internships and to build startups while still studying. “Students do not only learn in class but also undertake direct internships and can even build startups from their time at university,” she said. Furthermore, BIM University is developing the APIM Campus concept, which focuses on adaptive, progressive, and innovative abilities, as well as project-based learning, so that graduates are able to compete and meet the needs of industry in the digital era.
