JAKARTA — Deputy Chair of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives Abidin Fikri stated that the draft bill amending Law Number 34 of 2014 on the Management of Hajj Finance will be adjusted to reflect current dynamics in hajj administration.

In the revision of the law, he also advocated for hajj finance management to become more transparent, fair, and proportional in distributing benefits to pilgrims.

“Commission VIII of the House of Representatives is committed to accelerating the discussion so that this bill is quickly passed into law to support better and more equitable hajj administration for all Indonesian Muslims,” Abidin said on Friday, 13 March 2026.

According to him, more accountable hajj fund management will ensure the principle of justice is fulfilled, thereby preventing allegations and suspicions of injustice that have been complained about by pilgrims.

He stated that the House of Representatives has formally approved the bill as a House initiative proposal. The approval is the result of a harmonisation process at the House’s Legislative Body (Baleg) involving all parliamentary factions and marks a commitment to strengthening hajj fund governance.
