YouTuber Muhammad Jannah (MJ), also known as Bigmo, has provided clarification to investigators at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) regarding allegations that he involved underage children in promoting vape liquid or e-cigarettes during a live stream on his YouTube channel. During the clarification, Bigmo was asked around 40 questions by investigators.

“Mo has attended and been examined with approximately 40 questions, and during the examination Mo conveyed the chronology of the live streaming incident,” said Bigmo’s lawyer, Sangun Rahgado, on Monday (10/8/2026).

He said that evidence had also been submitted to investigators. According to him, Bigmo would not be defensive in providing clarification to investigators.

“We have also submitted the evidence, and here we emphasise again that Mo will not be defensive. Mo has admitted his mistake regarding the live streaming,” he said.

He also clarified the live stream that his client had conducted. According to him, Bigmo did not use a video script during his live streams.

“But perhaps what can also be clarified, so that everyone knows, is that Mo’s live streams have already taken place several times. This was not the first,” he explained.

“The live streams are always spontaneous; there has never been a script. So, for example, the live stream that took place at one of the markets was indeed intended to go to the market because he thought it might be crowded there,” he continued.

Then, the children approached Bigmo. Spontaneously, Bigmo mentioned one of the vape brands that he was promoting.

“So Mo only came there with two of his friends, and everything happened spontaneously. And perhaps in the incident that recently went viral, mentioning one of the brands was just spontaneous. There was absolutely no intention from the start on Mo’s part to, in quotation marks, exploit children,” he said.

Bigmo began arriving at Polda Metro Jaya for clarification at 1.24 p.m. Western Indonesian Time. At 5.31 p.m., Bigmo had finished providing clarification.

The case began when Bigmo conducted a live stream on his YouTube channel. In a viral clip of the live stream, Bigmo was seen approaching a seller of e-cigarette liquid.

Bigmo was also seen engaging in conversation with several young children at the location. He then invited the children to enter the camera frame to promote one of the vape liquid brands.
