Big drug bust on Bali
DENPASAR, Bali: Police have arrested a man believed to be one of the major drug suppliers on the holiday island.
They seized 828 grams of heroin, with an estimated street value of Rp 240 million ($110,000), from the suspect, identified as 31-year-old YS of North Sumatran origin, Antara reported.
The suspect was apprehended at his rented house in Legian, a popular beach resort in Bali. The drugs were found buried in his yard.
Col. Togar Sianipar, chief detective of the Nusra Police, who made the announcement on Monday, said this is the second largest drug bust that the police have made this year.
In March, they arrested a man, identified as EK, with a haul of 100 grams of cocaine, 305 grams of hashish, 1,200 Ecstasy pills and 7.9 grams of marijuana. (emb)
