Big Alpha and Pandemic Talks Deny Recruitment by Indonesian Government Communications Agency, Confirm Membership in INMF
Big Alpha has issued a statement affirming that it is one of the homeless media entities affiliated with the Indonesia New Media Forum (INMF). In a statement posted on the Instagram account @bigalphaid, INMF is described as an independent forum initiated in July 2025. “Big Alpha is one of the members of INMF,” reads the statement from Big Alpha posted on the Instagram account @bigalphaid on Thursday (7/5/2026). In the same statement, Big Alpha also denied being recruited by the Indonesian Government Communications Agency (Bakom RI). “It is not true that Big Alpha was recruited by Bakom to become a partner in delivering or implementing government programmes,” the statement reads. Big Alpha stated that it remains committed to its values and stance of always being independent in presenting objective, data-based content. “And prioritising information that is accurate, credible, and accountable,” the statement adds. “Pandemic Talks was not recruited by the Government Communications Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (Bakom RI),” reads the statement from Pandemic Talks posted on the Instagram account @pandemictalks on Thursday. Pandemic Talks’ involvement in INMF is part of efforts to build networks among new media practitioners to create a mutually supportive ecosystem. “Pandemic Talks remains committed as a new media outlet that upholds values of independence and humanity,” the statement reads.
