Biden Launches Scathing Attack on Trump, Calling Him a Corrupt, Narcissistic Loser
Former United States President Joe Biden has launched a scathing attack on President Donald Trump and his policies. Biden openly called Trump a corrupt, narcissistic, and incompetent ‘loser’ in leading the US.
The criticism, delivered roughly two years after their contentious debate during the 2024 presidential election which ended with Biden’s withdrawal from the race, was made at a Democratic Party fundraising event in Maryland on Saturday night. Biden described his successor as an arrogant and corrupt leader.
‘Not just projects to satisfy his ego, like tearing down the East Wing of the White House to build a ballroom, putting his name on the Kennedy Center, building an arch to honour himself, even hiring his private pool boy to fix the reflecting pool. Wow! What a loser,’ Biden told the audience at the event held in a Maryland casino.
In the 10-minute speech, Biden delivered one of his sharpest criticisms of Trump since leaving office. ‘That reflecting pool reflects something far worse than the narcissism and incompetence at the core of this administration,’ he stated. ‘It’s corruption, corruption done openly and without shame. Corruption on a scale unprecedented in the history of the American presidency.’
Biden also expressed anger over Trump’s stance on the January 6 Capitol rioters. ‘What makes me mad is Trump wants to give taxpayer money, your money, to the January 6 insurrectionists. That’s what he wants to do,’ Biden told the crowd. ‘These people don’t deserve compensation. They deserve to go to jail for a very, very, very long time.’
There was no immediate response from Trump or the White House to Biden’s criticism. Since leaving the White House in early 2025, Biden has not shied away from criticising Trump. In the past month, he has attended party events in Maryland, South Dakota, and his home state of Delaware in an effort to rally support for the Democratic Party during Trump’s second term. However, this move comes amid a complicated post-presidency period, as many Democrats remain disappointed with how Biden handled the 2024 election. A recent CNN poll conducted by SSRS shows only 30 per cent of Americans hold a favourable view of Biden, the lowest rating recorded during any period of his time in office.
