Bidara Cina's apartment complex

JAKARTA (JP): President Soeharto is scheduled to inaugurate
the low-cost apartment complex in Bidara Cina, East Jakarta, next
March.

Governor Surjadi Soedirdja visited the apartments on Wednesday
to have a close look at the construction of the project.

He said that the complex is equipped with social and public
facilities, including spaces for kiosks on the ground floor and a
multifunction room on the first floor.

"This housing complex is intended mainly for residents of the
Bidara Cina subdistrict and Kebon Baru subdistrict in South
Jakarta, whose lands were appropriated to make way for the
construction of the Ciliwung river project," Surjadi said.

Head of the city housing office Ongky Sukasah said that the
apartment complex is part of the city's Kampong Improvement
Project to provide sanitary housing for low-income Jakartans.
