Bibi Kelinci restaurant owner seeks special case review at Bareskrim
Jakarta (ANTARA) — The owner of Bibi Kelinci Kemang restaurant in South Jakarta, Nabila O Brien, has requested a special case review at the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) of the Indonesian Police (Polri) concerning her designation as a suspect in connection with alleged violations of the Information and Electronic Transactions Law (UU ITE) and defamation. I have just sent a public complaint letter and a request for a special case review to the Investigation Supervisory Bureau (Wassidik) at Bareskrim Polri,’ said Nabila’s legal representative, Goldie Natasya Swarovski, at a press conference at Bibi Kelinci Kemang, Jakarta, on Friday. Goldie explained that Nabila, who should have been the victim of theft, was instead named a suspect by Bareskrim Polri on Saturday (28 Feb). Therefore, she hopes that with the special case review, it will demonstrate justice, and that the investigation will be halted on the basis that elements of the crime are not met. Her side also praised the internal security (Paminal) of the Police for responding quickly and actively to the report. They also stated they would pursue all legal avenues, including filing for a praperadilan (pretrial). ‘What kind of pretrial? We will pursue it with every effort to cancel our client’s status as a suspect, make this investigation stop, we will do,’ she said. Earlier, a husband-and-wife duo with initials ZK and ESR were reported to the police for allegedly stealing 14 orders of food and drinks from a restaurant in the Kemang area, Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta on 25 September 2025. The restaurant owner’s police report, i.e., Nabila’s, was registered under number LP/B/048/IX/2025/SPKT/Polsek Mampang/Polres Metro Jaksel/Polda Metro Jaya. On 30 September 2025, the alleged perpetrators reported Nabila to Bareskrim Polri for alleged violations of UU ITE, defamation and libel. On 24 February 2026, the Mampang Prapatan Police Precinct named Zendhy and Evi as suspects in the alleged crime of theft. Then, on 28 February 2026, Nabila was named a suspect by the Cyber Crime Directorate (Dittipidsiber) of Bareskrim Polri.
