BI Tasikmalaya Strengthens Inflation Control via Sindang Priatim
Tasikmalaya (ANTARA) - Bank Indonesia (BI) Tasikmalaya, together with regional governments in the East Priangan region of West Java, is strengthening price control and cross-regional food supply management based on artificial intelligence by launching the latest platform “Sinergi Data Ngahiji Priangan Timur”, known as Sindang Priatim.
“Through Sindang Priatim, data from various regions is collected in a single platform, thereby supporting the identification of price pressures and more targeted and earlier policy coordination,” said Azhar Livaldy Setyawigoena, Deputy Head of Bank Indonesia Tasikmalaya, at a meeting with regional government representatives from East Priangan in Tasikmalaya on Thursday.
He explained that the platform integrates price and cross-regional food supply data, and is equipped with an early warning system and artificial intelligence (AI)-based projections to support inflation control policy-making.
Sindang Priatim, he said, is used jointly by Bank Indonesia and regional governments across East Priangan, covering Tasikmalaya City and Regency, Ciamis Regency, Banjar City, and Pangandaran Regency.
Through a single platform, he said, regional governments can monitor food price developments, supply conditions, food balances, commodity surpluses and deficits, and the implementation of price stabilisation programmes as material for coordination by the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID).
The strengthening of this system, he added, is intended to support more data-driven inflation control coordination and enable potential price pressures to be identified at an earlier stage.
“Inflation control requires information that is fast, accurate, and reliable,” he said.
He explained that one of the features developed is an early warning system and AI-based price projections. This technology can be used to process historical patterns of food price developments and produce indications of potential price movements going forward.
