BI Survey: New Loan Disbursement Rises in Q2 2026
Bank Indonesia (BI), through its Banking Survey, recorded that new loan disbursement in the second quarter of 2026 increased compared to the previous quarter, reflected by a rise in the Weighted Net Balance (SBT). The SBT for new loans in Q2 2026 was recorded at 93.08 per cent, higher than the SBT of 38.74 per cent in the previous quarter. Executive Director of BI’s Communication Department, Ramdan Denny Prakoso, stated in Jakarta on Monday that new loan growth occurred across all types of use. Furthermore, based on the survey results, the SBT value was recorded as increasing for working capital loans, investment loans, and consumer loans by 94.34 per cent, 93.51 per cent, and 83.67 per cent respectively, higher than the previous quarter. Meanwhile, demand for credit cards (SBT 30.18 per cent) experienced a slowdown compared to the previous quarter. For the third quarter of 2026, new loan disbursement is forecast to continue growing with an SBT of 84.65 per cent. The main priority of respondents in new loan disbursement for Q3 2026 is expected to remain the same as the previous period, namely working capital loans, followed by investment loans and consumer loans. This more prudent lending policy includes aspects such as interest rates, credit ceilings, credit agreements, loan tenors, and approval fees. In the third quarter of 2026, lending standards are predicted to be more accommodative, with a negative Lending Standard Index of 2.25. Respondents forecast that outstanding loans will continue to grow until the end of 2026. This condition is supported by positive economic and monetary prospects as well as maintained risks in loan disbursement.
