BI Strengthens Human Resources through Central Banking Education in NTT
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — Bank Indonesia is strengthening its strategic role in preparing superior human resources (HR) through central banking education, in line with the increasing complexity of global economic challenges.
This effort is being realised through the Kick Off of the 2026 Central Banking Education Programme, held by the Bank Indonesia Representative Office in Nusa Tenggara Timur Province (KPwBI NTT) at the Rectorate Hall of Nusa Cendana University, Kupang, on Thursday (16/4/2026), in a hybrid format.
“Through this programme, we aim to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of central banking, as well as analytical and adaptive capabilities to face the evolving dynamics of the economy,” said the Deputy Head of the Bank Indonesia Representative Office in NTT Province, Adidoyo Prakoso.
He added that strengthening collaboration with universities is an important step in creating a relevant and sustainable learning ecosystem.
This programme is part of Bank Indonesia’s efforts to address global economic challenges, from financial market volatility to inflation and exchange rate dynamics. Understanding the role of the central bank is considered increasingly important, especially for the younger generation as future economic drivers.
This collaboration aims to enhance central banking literacy, strengthen academic capacity, and encourage research development in economics and finance.
The kick-off event was officiated by the Vice Rector III of Nusa Cendana University, Siprianus, along with the Deputy Head of the Bank Indonesia Representative Office in NTT Province, Didiet Aditya. Participants consisted of students from five partner universities, attending either in person or online.
In addition, the Cinta, Bangga, dan Paham (CBP) Rupiah programme was socialised as part of efforts to strengthen public literacy regarding the national currency.
“Bank Indonesia is committed to continuously expanding access to central banking education while improving the quality of learning through synergy with universities,” said Adidoyo.
“We hope that this collaboration can produce HR capable of contributing to maintaining economic stability and driving national progress,” he continued.
Through this initiative, Bank Indonesia reaffirms its commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with the education sector to support the formulation and implementation of increasingly effective policies in the future.
