The Central Java Representative Office of Bank Indonesia has reported that the number of Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) users in the region reached 9.08 million as of June 2026. Head of BI Central Java, M Noor Nugroho, stated in Pekalongan on Thursday that this user base is the third largest nationally. He added that the number of merchant outlets serving QRIS payments in Central Java has reached 4.52 million, the fourth highest in the country. BI continues to strengthen pro-growth policies, including through the acceleration of digital payment system adoption. The bank is expanding digital acceptance via the 2026 National QRIS Week, scheduled for 11โ€“17 August, coinciding with the 81st anniversary of Indonesian independence. In Central Java, the event will be accompanied by various activities aimed at bringing digital payment solutions closer to the public and making them easier to use.
