Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung - Bank Indonesia (BI) Representative Office for the Bangka Belitung Islands Province has recorded MSME transactions totalling Rp2.2 billion during the Explore Babel 2026 series in Pangkalpinang City.

Head of BI Representative Office for Bangka Belitung Islands Province Rommy S Tamawiwy said in Pangkalpinang on Friday that the achievement demonstrates public enthusiasm for local MSME products.

“Looking at the transaction side, as of today it has reached Rp2.2 billion for MSME transactions, and the three-day main event has not even started yet,” Rommy said on the sidelines of Explore Babel 2026.

He said Explore Babel 2026 carries the theme “Harmoni Serumpun Sebalai Menuju Bangka Belitung Berdaya dan Berkelanjutan” (Harmony of Serumpun Sebalai Towards an Empowered and Sustainable Bangka Belitung).

According to him, the series of activities began in April 2026, involving more than 250 MSMEs in various activities, from pre-events and side events to the main event.

Explore Babel 2026 also involves more than 20 strategic partners to build synergy and collaboration in developing the region’s economic potential.

Rommy said the event serves as a space for MSME and creative economy players to expand their markets while enhancing the competitiveness of local products.

“The progress of Bangka Belitung cannot be built partially; it requires synergy, collaboration, innovation and the spirit of besaoh, or mutual cooperation,” he said.

He emphasised that Explore Babel is not merely an activity belonging to BI, but a stage for the best works of Bangka Belitung MSMEs and a platform of appreciation for all parties involved.

“Explore Bangka Belitung does not belong to Bank Indonesia. Explore Bangka Belitung is a stage for the best works of Bangka Belitung MSMEs,” he said.
