BI Records 12.67 Percent Increase in Bank Lending
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bank Indonesia (BI) has recorded banking credit growth of 12.67 per cent year on year (yoy) in June 2026. This marks an increase compared with May 2026, when credit grew 11.51 per cent annually.
BI Governor Perry Warjiyo detailed that the growth was driven by investment credit, which rose 24.9 per cent (yoy), working capital credit, which increased 8.49 per cent (yoy), and consumption credit, which grew 5.75 per cent (yoy). “Bank Indonesia projects credit growth in 2026 to remain within the range of 8-12 per cent,” he said at a press conference on Wednesday, 22 July 2026.
Meanwhile, undisbursed loan facilities in June reached Rp 2,490 trillion, or 21.52 per cent of the available credit ceiling. This represented a decline compared with May, when the figure stood at Rp 2,576 trillion, or 22.41 per cent of the available credit ceiling.
Perry said that the appetite for lending remains accommodative from the supply side. This is supported by third-party funds (DPK) growth of 10.21 per cent annually. “The development of banking interest rates is expected to encourage credit growth, including supported by the publication of the Base Credit Interest Rate (SBDK) transparency assessment,” he said.
The one-month deposit rate was recorded at 4.76 per cent in June 2026. Meanwhile, the lending rate as of June 2026 stood at 8.81 per cent. BI itself has decided to hold the BI-Rate at 5.75 per cent after raising it three times between May and June.
