BI Rate Held Steady, Foreign Investors Spotted Accumulating These Shares
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — Although foreign investors overall recorded a net foreign sell of Rp920.3 billion across the entire market on Wednesday’s trading (22/7/2026), a number of shares remained targets for accumulation. The share most heavily bought by foreign investors was PT Pacific Strategic Financial Tbk (APIC), with a net buy value reaching Rp297.7 billion. Almost all transactions were dominated by buy orders, with the purchase value reaching Rp297.8 billion through the negotiation market. In the next position was PT Timah Tbk (TINS), which recorded a net foreign buy of Rp55.5 billion, followed by PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) at Rp48.9 billion. Foreign investors also collected PT Bakrie & Brothers Tbk (BNBR) worth Rp44.5 billion, PT VKTR Teknologi Mobilitas Tbk (VKTR) at Rp32.9 billion, and PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) at Rp27.3 billion. Shares in the energy and commodity sectors still dominated the foreign accumulation list, followed by banking and infrastructure shares. The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) rally halted on Wednesday after recording gains for nine consecutive trading days. The IHSG closed slightly lower by 0.09% at 6,334.48, with 367 shares declining, 281 advancing, and 317 unchanged. The transaction value reached Rp18.52 trillion with a volume of 44.63 billion shares traded over 2.7 million transactions. The market movement occurred after Bank Indonesia decided to hold the BI Rate at 5.25%, in line with market expectations. The decision briefly provided certainty for domestic market players. However, at the same time, the US dollar strengthened amid expectations that US interest rates would remain higher for longer. This condition meant that foreign fund flows into emerging markets, including Indonesia, remained selective.
