BI provides 270 scholarships for three state universities in South Sulawesi
Makassar (ANTARA) - Bank Indonesia is providing 270 scholarships through the 2026 Bank Indonesia central banking education scholarship programme to students at three state universities (PTN) in South Sulawesi (Sulsel).
The Head of the Bank Indonesia Representative Office for South Sulawesi Province, Rizki Ernadi Wimanda, stated in Makassar on Friday that the quota for this scholarship programme has increased compared to the previous year, which reached 255 students.
The three PTN receiving the scholarship programme are Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas), UIN Alauddin Makassar (UIN), and Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM), each allocated 80 undergraduate (S1) students.
Specifically for Unhas, this year it also receives an additional 30 quotas for Diploma 3 (D3) and Diploma 4 (D4) programmes. Each recipient will receive assistance of Rp1 million per month until the end of their studies.
He explained that Bank Indonesia has set three main focuses in this collaboration: enhancing central banking literacy, support for research, and educational assistance.
Following the signing of the memoranda of understanding (MoUs), the next stage is administrative selection, which will take place from 13 to 15 April 2026.
This selection is aimed at students in semesters 3 to 7, with primary priority given to those from low-income family backgrounds but with good academic achievements.
Universitas Hasanuddin itself will soon implement the recruitment process for prospective Bank Indonesia scholarship recipients in the near future. The Student Affairs Division of Unhas will consult with Bank Indonesia to discuss the technicalities and details of registration.
