BI, JSX to close on Jan. 29
JAKARTA (JP): Bank Indonesia (BI) and the management of Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) announced yesterday they would halt operations on Thursday, Jan. 29, to celebrate the Moslem Idul Fitri holiday.
The central bank's operations and stock trading at the JSX will resume on Monday, Feb. 1.
BI said it would open its cashier counters to the public on Thursday but the bank would close one hour earlier than normal. There will be no clearing or foreign exchange transactions.
However, if the government decides that Idul Fitri should fall on Thursday, the central bank will close its office on Wednesday, Jan. 28. (rid)
