Bank Indonesia (BI) has extended the relaxation policy on the minimum payment threshold for credit card bills at 5% of the total bill and a maximum late penalty of 1%, with the value not exceeding Rp100,000. This extension is set until 31 December 2026. Previously, this relief policy was released at the end of 2025 and was due to expire on 30 June 2026 to maintain public purchasing power.

Concurrently, BI is also continuing the relaxation policy for the Bank Indonesia National Clearing System (SKNBI), setting the fee from Bank Indonesia to banks at Rp1, with a maximum charge from banks to customers of Rp2,900 per transaction.

β€œThe extension of the Credit Card (KK) policy and the Bank Indonesia National Clearing System (SKNBI) tariff policy until 31 December 2026,” Perry emphasised during the presentation of the BI Board of Governors Meeting results on Thursday (18/6/2026).

In line with this payment system digitalisation policy, BI is also expanding digital financial acceptance through the QRIS Jelajah Indonesia 2026 programme and the expansion of Cross-Border QRIS, as well as the continued implementation of the Indonesian Digital Innovation Centre (PIDI), which includes the Digital Talenta Berdaya dan Berkarya (Digdaya) programme and a Hackathon, along with synergy with the Government through the Synergistic Acceleration and Expansion of Regional Digitalisation Capacity and Literacy (KATALIS P2DD) and Digdaya.
