BI expects PEIF 2026 to unlock investment opportunities in Papua
The Papua Province Representative Office of Bank Indonesia hopes the organisation of the Papua Economic and Investment Forum (PEIF) 2026 can open wider investment opportunities for the land of Papua, thereby encouraging an inclusive and sustainable regional economic transformation. Head of Bank Indonesia’s Papua Province Representative Office, Warsono, in Jayapura on Wednesday, said this second PEIF serves as a strategic platform to identify and accelerate various investment opportunities in Papua and the new autonomous regions, whilst simultaneously strengthening synergy among stakeholders to support economic growth. "On Thursday (5/6), we held the Economic and Investment Forum (PEIF) 2026 in Mimika Regency, Central Papua. The two-day activity was attended by the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Treasury for Papua Province to discuss creative financing synergy and strengthening the regional investment ecosystem," he said. According to Warsono, his party also brought in an Investment Project Ready to Offer Consultant from Gadjah Mada University to discuss integrated tourism development, regional asset optimisation, and the preparation of investment projects ready to be offered to investors. "For this reason, through this forum we hope to build closer collaboration between the government, academics, financial institutions, and the community to present investment programmes that are ready to be offered to investors," he stated.
