BI East Java, OJK, and Provincial Government Synergise to Strengthen Quality Investment, Launch EJIF 2026
The synergy between Bank Indonesia (BI) East Java, the East Java Provincial Government, and the Financial Services Authority (OJK) East Java is being strengthened to encourage quality investment as part of efforts to maintain sustainable regional economic growth. This collaboration was realised through a High-Level Meeting of the Investment Forum, the Regional Economic Growth Acceleration Team (TP2ED), and the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team (TPAKD), held at the Grahadi State Building in Surabaya. The forum served as a strategic coordination platform between authorities to enhance investment, accelerate regional economic transformation, and promote public welfare.
Head of BI East Java, Ibrahim, stated that well-maintained macroeconomic stability is the main asset in boosting investor confidence. ‘East Java has a strong appeal as an investment destination thanks to its strategic location, improving infrastructure support, and a resilient economic structure,’ he said. He added that investors are not looking for perfect regions, but rather responsive, collaborative areas with strong commitment, all of which East Java possesses. The challenge ahead is to bring in higher-quality investment that can create added value, open employment opportunities, strengthen downstream industries, and drive sustainable economic growth. East Java’s economic growth in the first quarter of 2026 was recorded at 5.96% year-on-year, with inflation remaining under control amid rising global economic uncertainty.
Head of the East Java Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP), Dyah Wahyu Ermawati, stated that integrating the Investment Forum, TP2ED, and TPAKD is a strategic step to strengthen cross-sector coordination. These efforts are directed at preparing Investment Project Ready to Offer (IPRO) schemes, accelerating industrial estate development, and enhancing East Java’s investment competitiveness. Acting Head of OJK East Java, Horas V. M. Tarihoran, emphasised the importance of expanding financing access through the financial services sector to support investment, micro, small, and medium enterprise (UMKM) development, and financial inclusion in the region.
On the same occasion, Deputy for Social Statistics at BPS, M. Nashrul Wajdi, conveyed that the implementation of the 2026 Economic Census will produce a more comprehensive economic database as a basis for formulating investment, financing, and regional economic development policies. East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa stressed that quality investment must align with strengthening food security, enhancing regional competitiveness, and improving public welfare. She encouraged the acceleration of the completion of Sustainable Food Agricultural Land (LP2B), Standard Paddy Fields (LBS), and Protected Paddy Fields (LSD), synchronisation of spatial planning, industrial estate development, strengthening of IPRO, and resolution of various investment barriers. The event concluded with the launch of the East Java Investment Forum (EJIF) 2026 to strengthen investment promotion for both domestic and international investors.
