BI DKI Jakarta Launches TRUST Programme to Strengthen Digital Payment Oversight
The Bank Indonesia (BI) Representative Office for DKI Jakarta Province has launched the TRUST Jakarta (Transparency, Surveillance, Risk Management for Secure Transactions) programme to strengthen supervision of the digital payment industry and foreign exchange money changers in the capital. Introduced at the Jakarta Secure Payment System (JSPay) Summit, the programme represents a new strategy for BI to enhance oversight and licensing of Payment Service Providers (PJP), Non-Bank Foreign Exchange Money Changers (PUKA BB), and Licensed Money Changer Entities (BB UKA) through a more adaptive, collaborative, and integrated approach. As of July 2026, the BI DKI Jakarta office supervises 33.83% of national PJPs, 30.55% of PUKA BB operators, and 75% of BB UKA entities, with Jakarta contributing 39.67% of national payment system transactions.
Deputy Head of BI DKI Jakarta Province, Reny Julianie F., stated that strengthening supervision is key to maintaining payment system stability amid the rapid development of digital financial services. “Every secure payment system begins with trust. In a continuously evolving industry, robust supervision is built through strong and sustainable collaboration. Through TRUST Jakarta, we are delivering more responsive and reliable oversight together with all industry players,” she said on Wednesday (29/7).
TRUST Jakarta is built on three main pillars. The first is the Jakarta Secure Payment Summit (JSPay Summit), serving as a forum for industry capacity building and policy dialogue. The second is the Strategic Payment and Resilient Knowledge Forum (SPARK), aimed at strengthening inter-agency synergy. The third pillar, Payment System on Your View (POV), focuses on enhancing industry capacity to be more compliant, resilient, and adaptive to technological developments. Through these three pillars, BI aims to strengthen governance, risk management, cyber resilience, and the implementation of Anti-Money Laundering, Countering the Financing of Terrorism, and Countering the Financing of Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction (APU PPT PPPSPM) policies. This initiative is part of the implementation of the Indonesian Payment System Blueprint (BSPI) 2030 and aligns with international standards set by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
