BI Checking Has Changed: You Can Now Check Your Own Debts Online
Credit history is vital for obtaining financing from financial service institutions, especially for those planning to apply for Home Ownership Loans (KPR), business capital loans, or new credit cards.
Now, the public can independently check their financial ‘track record’ beforehand, allowing Indonesians to verify loan status, payment history, and creditworthiness officially and free of charge.
It is important to note that checking credit history no longer uses Bank Indonesia’s BI Checking service. Since 2018, this authority has been fully transferred to the Financial Services Authority (OJK) through a system called the Financial Information Service System (SLIK).
The public can access this service online through the official OJK iDebku portal at https://idebku.ojk.go.id. This platform is directly integrated with OJK’s head and regional offices across Indonesia, ensuring that the data presented is accurate and legally valid.
Through this portal, all debts under your name—ranging from commercial banks and finance companies (multifinance) to technology-based lending providers—will be visible transparently.
What Information is Available in SLIK OJK?
The Debtor Information Report (iDeb) issued by the OJK contains comprehensive details of all credit facilities you currently hold or have previously held. This data serves as the primary reference (scoring) for banks and financial institutions before approving your new credit applications.
