BI Checking Has Been Replaced, You Can Now Check Your Debt Yourself Online
Indonesian residents can now independently and officially check their loan status, repayment history, and creditworthiness online. However, note that the checks are no longer performed via Bank Indonesia’s BI Checking service, but have shifted to a new system named SLIK (Sistem Layanan Informasi Keuangan), which has been fully managed by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) since 2018. Access to the checks is freely available to all citizens via the official portal iDebku, at https://idebku.ojk.go.id. This platform is directly connected to OJK’s headquarters and all regional offices, ensuring the data presented is accurate, centralized, and legally valid. Through this service, Indonesian citizens can view all debt history recorded in their name from banks, financing companies, and fintech lending services.
What information is available in SLIK?
The report contains a detailed record of all credit facilities ever held, including:
Working Capital Credit
Motor Vehicle Credit
Home Ownership Credit (KPR) or Apartment
Investment Credit
Unsecured Credit (KTA)
Credit Card
Secured loans (gold, deposits, or other assets)
Payment history and status of performance (good/clear, less good, doubtful, or default)
This information is crucial as it serves as the primary reference for banks or financial institutions when applying for new loans, credit cards, or during insurance or business capital processes.
Complete Guide to Checking SLIK and iDebku Online
Stage 1: Account Registration & Application Submission
Open a browser on your mobile phone or computer, and go to the official address at https://idebku.ojk.go.id
On the homepage, select the Registration button
Go to the Service Availability Check menu
Enter initial data:
Debtor type (Individual or Corporate)
Citizenship (WNI or WNA)
Identity type (KTP or Passport)
Identity number as per document
Enter the Captcha security code, then click Next. If you see a notification that the queue is full, the daily number of applicants has reached capacity. Try again during quiet hours, such as early morning before work hours or in the evening. The system will open new quotas each day.
Continue by filling in full personal data: name as per identity, gender, place & date of birth, full address, province, regency/city, active email address, and a reachable phone number
Choose the purpose of information request (e.g., personal use, credit application, or data verification) and enter mother’s maiden name
Click Next to proceed to document uploads
Upload photos of required documents, ensure each file is up to 4 MB and the images are clear and not blurry:
Photo of the identity document (KTP/Passport)
Photo of yourself holding the identity document
Photo of yourself following the example guidelines on the screen. Ensure all text on the document is clearly legible, as a blurry image may result in the application being rejected.
After all documents are uploaded, click Next
Click Submit Application. Ensure the email address you entered is correct, as the SLIK report will be sent directly to that email.
You can still modify data if incorrect by pressing Back. If correct, tick the statement of data accuracy and consent to the OJK terms and conditions
Finally click Submit Application
Once successful, a ‘Registration Successful’ notification will appear. Don’t forget to copy or record the registration number, as this code is required to check the next status.
Stage 2: How to Check Application Status
Return to the iDebku.ojk.go.id homepage
Press the Service Status button
Enter the registration number you saved earlier
The system will display the stages of your application. Under OJK rules, the report result is sent to your email no later than one working day after the registration is received and verified.
