BI: Broad Money (M2) Grows 8.7% to Reach Rp10,432 Trillion in June 2026
Jakarta - Bank Indonesia (BI) recorded that economic liquidity, or broad money supply (M2), grew positively in June 2026. The M2 position in June 2026 was recorded at Rp10,432.8 trillion, growing by 8.7% year-on-year (yoy), continuing the growth of 10.8% (yoy) seen in May 2026.
This development was driven by narrow money (M1) growth of 9.8% (yoy) and quasi-money growth of 6.9% (yoy), BI wrote in its monthly report on Thursday (23/7/2026). BI stated that the M2 development in June 2026 was mainly influenced by lending and net claims on the Central Government.
Furthermore, BI noted that lending grew by 12.1% (yoy), an increase compared to the 10.8% (yoy) growth in May 2026. Meanwhile, net claims on the Central Government grew by 10.1% (yoy), continuing the growth of 37.4% (yoy) in May 2026.
BI recorded that adjusted Base Money (M0) in June 2026 grew 13.8% (yoy), continuing the growth of 14.2% (yoy) in May 2026, reaching Rp2,228.0 trillion. This development was influenced by the growth of currency in circulation of 14.0% (yoy) and adjusted commercial bank demand deposits at Bank Indonesia of 12.6% (yoy). Based on the influencing factors, the adjusted M0 growth has taken into account the impact of providing liquidity incentives (adjusted monetary control).
