BI Banten Partners with 10 Banks to Provide New Banknote Exchange Services for Idul Fitri
Serang (ANTARA) - The Bank Indonesia (BI) Representative Office for Banten Province has partnered with 10 commercial banks to open integrated new banknote exchange services to meet public transaction needs ahead of Ramadan and Idul Fitri 2026.
BI Banten Head Ameriza M Moesa, speaking in Serang, Banten, on Monday, stated that this collaboration with the banking sector is an effort to provide ease and convenience of access for members of the public wishing to exchange banknotes.
"For the exchange programme, as with last year, we are providing mobile cash services, then services through banking counters, and thirdly there are integrated services. For these integrated services, we are working together with 10 banks," Ameriza said.
Ameriza explained that the integrated services would be distributed across three main locations, one of which would be centred at the KP3B complex (Banten Provincial Government Centre).
Overall, BI Banten has prepared dozens of service points to facilitate banknote exchanges for Banten residents. These comprise nine mobile cash service points, 57 banking counter service points, and three integrated service points.
"For members of the public who wish to know the detailed exchange locations, such as where in Tangerang or where in Lebak, you can go directly to the pintar.bi.go.id website to check," he added.
The banknote exchange service programme forms part of the Semarak Rupiah Ramadhan dan Berkah Idul Fitri (SERAMBI) 2026 initiative. The programme is scheduled to run from 13 February to 15 March 2026, with a dedicated launch event for the Banten region on 19 February.
To support the smooth running of all exchange services, BI Banten has this year prepared cash reserves totalling Rp3.2 trillion, comprising Rp2.78 trillion in large denomination notes and Rp420 billion in small denomination notes.
