Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Acting Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) Destry Damayanti has emphasised that coordination between the central bank and the government is increasingly solid regarding the management and placement of excess budget balances (SAL).

According to Destry, she and Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa have already spoken. In fact, the two have also communicated about the placement of SAL with the Financial Services Authority (OJK).

“So indeed the SAL funds are used to increase bank third-party funds (DPK). So for us it is not a problem. So that is as long as the objective is clear and also on coordination,” said Destry on Wednesday (26/8/2026).

In addition, Destry acknowledged that the policy of Finance Minister Purbaya also affects money supply and so on. She assured that there is no problem, because everything has been discussed technically.

“And so far there has been no problem. We have continued to communicate. And not only that, the technical teams have now sat down together,” she said.

In fact, the Ministry of Finance, BI, OJK, and the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) have observed the movement and circulation of SAL funds in the banking sector. BI has also cautioned the government to ensure that SAL withdrawals continue to prioritise communication.

“And also when it is to be withdrawn, we have been informed well in advance,” she explained.
