BI and Bengkulu Provincial Government Curate 12 Potential Regional Investment Projects
Bank Indonesia, together with the Bengkulu Provincial Government, has prepared 12 leading investment projects from nine regencies and cities to be offered as investment opportunities to prospective investors in a bid to drive investment into the region. “Today we have curated 12 projects from nine regencies and cities, spread across all regencies and cities in Bengkulu Province. They range from infrastructure to commodities such as coffee and shrimp, the Kaur Lagoon tourism area, mangroves, and also an industrial zone in Bengkulu City,” said Muhammad Irfan Octama, Deputy Representative of Bank Indonesia for Bengkulu Province, on Monday. He stated that the projects are currently being curated together with curators and local regency and city governments to prepare investment opportunities deemed to have the potential for better development in Bengkulu Province. According to Irfan, the projects included in the curation list come from various strategic sectors, with the hope of attracting investor interest according to their respective business fields. He explained that the 12 curated projects are spread across nine regencies and cities. These projects include the Robusta Coffee Processing Development in Kepahiang Regency, the Larangan Fish Tourism in Seluma Regency, the Mangrove Forest Tourism Area and Industrial Zone in Bengkulu City, and the Mas Harun Bastari Lake Development in Rejang Lebong Regency. Additionally, there is the Laguna Waterpark & Resort in Kaur Regency, an Integrated Nursery Farming System and CPO Oil Factory in North Bengkulu Regency, the Construction of a Waste Processing Industry in Mukomuko Regency, and the Lebong Coffee Valley in Lebong Regency. Other projects included in the curation are a Fish and Chicken Feed Factory in Seluma Regency and a Rice Milling Unit and Rice Packaging facility in South Bengkulu Regency. All these projects are being prepared as an investment portfolio to be offered to prospective investors. The curation process is currently still in the stage of preparing investment proposals so that each project has adequate documentation before being offered to prospective investors. Irfan expressed hope that all the curated projects can become an investment portfolio capable of increasing Bengkulu Province’s attractiveness in the eyes of investors and accelerating regional economic development.
